BLS Says Only 18 of 30 Fastest Growing Jobs Require Some Post-Secondary Training

According to a new report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment is expected to increase by 11.5 million over the decade of 2016-2026. A few interesting highlights from the report include:

  • All occupational groups are expected to add jobs over the decade except for the production, farming, fishing, and forestry groups
  • Of the 30 fastest growing detailed occupations, only 18 typically require some level of post-secondary education for entry
  • Healthcare support occupations, healthcare practitioners, and technical occupations are projected to be among the fastest growing occupation groups
